In collaboration with the European Confederation of Higher Education Language Centers (CercleS) and the French National Network of Higher Education Language Centers (Ranacles), the UNamur Language Center is organizing the upcoming CercleS training week.

The 2026 Theme | Cooperation, Collaboration, and Integration: The Role of Specialized Language Teachers in Higher Education.

The event will take place from May 19 to 22, 2026, at UNamur and will bring together some thirty participants from across Europe for four days of discussion, reflection, and practical collaboration.

Focus of the week

This training week will provide a forum for exploring innovative forms of collaboration between language instructors and content specialists, with the aim of enhancing student learning. Key areas of focus include:

  • Co-operation between language instructors and content specialists
  • Interdisciplinary collaboration and program integration
  • Research-driven pedagogical strategies to support diverse learners

Program overview

The program combines academic insight and practical engagement, with all sessions conducted in English:

  • 3 plenary presentations on recent research and innovative perspectives on cooperation and collaboration in higher education language teaching.
  • 6 interactive Workshops focusing on experience sharing and group work. Typical topics include: the design of interdisciplinary teaching modules, the development of practical teaching resources, critical reflection on pedagogical practices, and effective strategies for cooperation and integration.

Networking and cultural program

Alongside the academic sessions, visits and group dinners will be organized to:

  • Explore Namur’s historical, cultural, and gastronomic heritage
  • Foster informal networking and professional connections

Registration and participation fees

The registration fee includes training sessions, accommodation and breakfast (May 19–21), coffee breaks, lunches, the gala dinner, and cultural activities. 

  • CercleS members: €500
  • CercleS members without accommodation: €300
  • Non-members: €650
  • Non-members without accommodation: €450

Accommodation for May 18 can be requested in the registration form for an additional fee (90€).

Priority is given to CercleS members (including RANACLES). Participation by non-members is subject to approval by the CercleS Executive Committee.
