The Chair of Excellence for Research and Expertise in Entrepreneurship (CHEREE) is a chair open to external sponsorship funding. The funds raised enable the financing of university research, the results of which, in addition to traditional scientific valorization, feed into teaching and community service through expert missions.

Objectives

  1. acquire a detailed understanding of the mechanisms that make up entrepreneurial dynamics;
  2. develop the University's expertise in entrepreneurship in relation to regional economic redeployment;
  3. transmit knowledge and mobilize the expertise acquired in the service of regional development players.

CHEREE is a component of the Centre de recherches en Economie Régionale et Politique Economique (CERPE) at the University of Namur.

Sowalfin and UCM are two of CHEREE's first patrons.

Sowalfin is co-financing the Chair's 'Entreprendre avec expérience' project. This project supports research into entrepreneurial performance situated in context, with a focus on regional economic development. The research findings will feed into entrepreneurship courses for adults in the workforce enrolled in the University's off-schedule programs.

UCM and CHEREE share a common commitment to the development of entrepreneurial knowledge and skills. CHEREE brings knowledge from academic research in the field of entrepreneurship and an international research network. The Research Department of the Union des Classes Moyennes contributes its experience of listening to the field and its expertise, as well as the possibility of exploiting data. Analysis work is carried out jointly. Research findings may be published in scientific journals.
