The advantages of staggered working hours at UNamur

  • The same degree as daytime studies

Studying on a staggered timetable gives you access to the same degrees as daytime studies (master's degree in law on a staggered or daytime timetable, master's degree in criminology, master's degree in political science...). Only the way in which skills are acquired differs, thanks to a special pedagogy adapted to the staggered timetable.

  • Fast access to campus

In the heart of Wallonia and a 5-minute walk from the train station, UNamur is ideally positioned to reconcile investment in studies, professional activity and social and family life.

  • 30 years of experience in adult education

You benefit from UNamur's thirty years of experience in adult education in economics and management and IT.

  • Half a century of law in Namur

You benefit from the teaching methods and research niches that have made the Faculty's reputation for half a century.

The program's original features

The training is divided into around ten hours of classes per week in the evenings, normally on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6pm to 9pm, and on Saturdays, mainly in the mornings.

It aims at:

  • an introduction, from the first year, to two fundamental disciplines of positive law:
    • the law of civil liability;
    • constitutional law;
  • a balanced distribution of courses in the humanities throughout the cycle;
  • an original system of pedagogical support and progressive learning in legal subjects:
    • practical exercises each year;
    • directed personal work in the second year;
    • an end-of-cycle assignment to bring the training to a close;
  • a progressive acquisition of two languages (Dutch and English) focused primarily on comprehension and legal vocabulary.

The program also adapts to the specific profile of students with a staggered timetable: teaching is more interactive, more concrete and practical(through examples and case studies solved during the course) and more contributive, but without increasing the overall daily workload or lowering the level of requirement.

Distance learning and personal work are encouraged to relieve the face-to-face workload. Adapted and as complete as possible supports are made available to you. Following the health crisis we have experienced, the Faculty of Law has been equipped with state-of-the-art distance learning tools to offer qualitative and interactive distance learning.

Paid educational leave (CEP)

This program opens up the right to paid educational leave to workers who are regularly enrolled in it and who can benefit from it under the conditions laid down by the law of January 22, 1885 and its implementing decrees. According to these legal provisions, beneficiary workers therefore receive this normally paid leave, to attend these training courses. See all the information on paid educational leave.
