What I particularly like about the studies I've chosen is the large amount of practical work and exercise sessions. During class, the teachers illustrate the theory with experiments. In my Bac 1 mechanics course, we had a small rocket take off in the auditorium to get a good understanding of the take-off process. I chose UNamur because I'm from Namur and I'd heard that the physics and maths departments were small and that student-professor contact was much easier. I knew that a smaller university (in terms of students) would suit me better, and that's totally the case!

During my training, I particularly appreciated the quality of the practical work in experimental physics. Right from the first year, these laboratory experiments enabled me to assimilate the subject matter in a friendly atmosphere. Later, as the practical work was integrated into the research units, it became increasingly specialized and just as exciting.
