Succeeding in a year of study at university involves many challenges.
To help you meet them, we support you in developing your disciplinary, methodological and human skills... with the support of numerous professionals.
For future students
Preparatory courses
The aim of these courses is to get students to "revisit" the main scientific disciplines needed to tackle the first year of the bachelor's degree and also to enable them to make initial contact with the university and its services.
Future students in mathematics and physics: courses these courses cover subjects in mathematics, physics and the methodology of university work.
Future students in biology, chemistry, geology-geography and veterinary medicine: modules comprising several scientific subjects as well as seminars on the methodology of university work are offered at the student's choice.
For first-year students
Operation Tremplin
Optional remedial sessions are organized in physics, chemistry and biology by the Faculty of Science teaching units. Depending on demand, they are scheduled from week to week. The content of these sessions varies according to needs: re-explanations of the material, question-and-answer sessions, completion of additional exercises, correction of formative assessments, etc.
Disciplinary workshops
This scheme is not just for students with difficulties: it is open to all students in Block 1 in chemical, physical and mathematical sciences. The workshops are scheduled at the beginning of the term in the timetable of the students concerned. They take place at a rate of 2 hours/week throughout the academic year.
Personalized or small-group help by subject
At the start of the year, you can meet either individually or in small groups with a resource person who will answer the questions you have previously targeted in a course/TD/TP. It's also an opportunity to exchange ideas, to listen to you, to advise you, to redirect you to a suitable service, ... This scheme is accessible throughout the year to students in all sections: chemistry, biology, geography, geology, physics, veterinary medicine as well as for students in the Faculty of Medicine (biomedical sciences, pharmacy, and medicine).
Detailed information is available on the Virtual Student Office (BVE).

Science teaching support unit (UAE)
The UAE's mission is to structure into a focus of interest and action the various strategies aimed at promoting the academic success of students in their first year at university.
It will also be asked to advise on cross-cutting issues relating to teaching in all years of the 1st and 2nd cycles.
