A life well lived!
Le Printemps des Sciences
The annual event for scientific and technological culture, Printemps des Sciences federates the various players in higher education, research but also the associative and cultural world. This week dedicated to discovery and experimentation is coordinated in Namur by the Confluent des Savoirs and takes place throughout the Wallonia-Brussels Federation. Each year, Printemps des Sciences offers a rich and diversified program aimed at both schoolchildren (from 3rd kindergarten to 6th grade) and the general public. This program is built and carried out with the Hautes Écoles and a wide network of cultural partners (museums, associations, etc.).
At the Faculty of Science, it's a busy week too! For example, the Mathematics Department is organizing its traditional "Rallye Math": A race against the clock to complete mathematical challenges in teams: riddles, quizzes and other fun activities.
In geography, come and map for an evening for a good cause at the "Mapathon": The "Missing Maps" project was created to digitize and map areas, roads and access routes to remote sites on a voluntary and collaborative basis. This helps the Red Cross, Médecins sans Frontières and many NGOs who often find themselves in difficulty when they need to access poorly documented geographical sites: natural disaster sites, refugee camps, etc.
In 2024, the theme was "Rare Earth". Next edition: from March 24 to 30, 2025!
