The Faculty of Science demonstrates cutting-edge, rich, dynamic and interdisciplinary research developed through the research units and laboratories of the various departments.

Organization

Faculty research is reflected in 9 of the University of Namur's 11 research institutes and is supported by numerous state-of-the-art facilities brought together in 9 technology platforms. Faculty members are involved in leading or managing these institutes and technology platforms. The range of different research activities extends from fundamental theoretical concepts to applications and product commercialization through spin-offs.

Our research activities also enable us to feed our Master's courses with the latest scientific developments, and to offer regular seminars and conferences by internationally renowned speakers, thanks to which our students and researchers are trained to excellence in an international context. Interdisciplinary training schools for PhD students are organized periodically via the research support unit.

Around 40 doctoral theses are defended each year, a further testament to quality and dynamism.
