Measures have been taken by mutual agreement with the universities of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation to promote the integration of refugee students into the French-speaking Belgian university system.
Who's concerned?
People covered by these measures must meet the following conditions:
- Must be an asylum seeker in Belgium,
- Must be a beneficiary of subsidiary protection,
- Must have obtained refugee status in Belgium earlier since January 1, 2017.
Admission conditions
Free admission is granted for:
- Registration for the examen de maitrise de la langue française (EMLF)
- Registration as a free student to isolated courses for a maximum of 15 credits
- Enrollment in preparatory courses organized by the host university
In addition, the Cellule sociale des étudiants may also, under certain conditions, intervene in the payment of registration fees for applicants benefiting from modest incomes.
