The University of Namur's Vie de la Communauté Universitaire (VéCU) service covers a variety of areas, including financial, psychological and medical support. The Cellule sociale and Cellule Médico-Psychologique (CMP) offer financial aid, psychological consultations and specific support for students with disabilities. In collaboration with other university services, VéCU also contributes to the fight against harassment with the PHARE scheme and supports harm reduction initiatives in festive environments.
Financial and social assistance
The main mission of the Cellule sociale's social workers is to welcome, accompany, support and intervene to promote study and success conditions and contribute to the well-being of students. They offer guidance, information, financial aid, job offers and the loan of work equipment. They also offer a sympathetic ear in complete confidentiality.
Psychological help and well-being
The Cellule Médico-Psychologique (CMP) offers psychological consultations to any student experiencing difficulties (emotional, personal, relational, family or academic, etc.) and wishing to be supported in a process of change, towards greater well-being. All services are free of charge.
Medical consultations
Two doctors are available on campus to provide students with medical consultations.
Orientation and reorientation (career plans and choice of studies)
Rhetoricians and university students can be accompanied free of charge by one of our psychologists in the construction of their professional projects and choice of studies.
Students with special needs (EBS) - students with disabilities (ESH)
The Cellule Médico-Psychologique (CMP) offers a service aimed at students and future students who are experiencing long-term difficulties that may hinder their participation in teaching on an equal footing with other students.
PHARE - Protection from harassment
The University of Namur has set up the PHARE scheme as part of an overall plan to combat moral, physical or sexual harassment and assaults against students and PhD students at the university.
Harm Reduction (HR) group
The mission of the Risk Reduction group at the University of Namur is to support student actions that promote health on campus and help reduce risks in festive environments.
