The University of Namur is careful to implement actions and special attentions to reduce and limit the direct environmental impacts of the campus. Since 2013, a series of calls for projects aimed at promoting sustainability on campus have been initiated. Discover also the Carmel, a former convent transformed into student accommodation, conducive to biodiversity and innovative learning projects. Campus Namur Durable call for projects

Calls for Campus Namur Durable (CaNDLE) projects are regularly issued to members of the entire university community with a view to supporting concrete initiatives. Since 2013, 13 projects have already seen the light of day, and seven others from the 2023 call are currently being implemented.

Le Carmel

Located 3.5 km from the University of Namur, this former convent houses around 30 student accommodation units. At the heart of a large garden and orchard, it's also a unique location for biodiversity or innovative educational projects. The Carmel is also where the beehive for the May'AGE project has been installed.

Domaine d'Haugimont

Located in the heart of the Condruzian countryside, the Domaine d'Haugimont lies in the commune of Gesves, 18 km southeast of Namur. Since 1978, it has been an exceptional teaching and research facility for students and scientists from the University of Namur. It is also open to the public and schools for training, discovery and leisure activities.
