The mission of the non-profit organization "Services d'Aide Pour les Enfants et Familles de l'Université de Namur", abbreviated "SAPEFUN", is to organize, manage, promote and encourage institutions and services to help children and parents within the framework of the Namur university community.
Services
SAPEFUN offers:
- the crèche "FUNny"approved by ONE (Office de la Naissance et de l'Enfance), catering for children aged 0 to 3
- the "Club Temps Libre", ONE-approved after-school care and vacation center for children aged 2 1/2 to 8
How it works
L'asbl "SAPEFUN" and its Board of Directors are, according to the articles of association, chaired by the Rector of the University of Namur (UN).
The Board of Directors is made up of:
- at least five directors appointed from among the association's members. These must include one member in the capacity of representative appointed by the staff delegation to the Works Council of the University of Namur: this is chosen from among the beneficiaries of the community.
- if necessary, one or two outside persons chosen by the General Meeting on the proposal of the Board of Directors for their specific skills or qualities.
Mandates are for 4 years.
FUNny day nursery
The "FUNny" crèche welcomes 63 children. It is intended primarily for children with at least one parent working or studying at UNamur. However, any unoccupied places are made available to children with no connection to the University of Namur.
It is located at 16 rue Grandgagnage, in a house belonging to the University of Namur.
On each floor, the children are divided into two living groups:
- the babies and the toddlerson 1st floor. The pivotal age being around 9 months (phase of independent movement and preparation for walking).
- the medium and large on the ground floor, the pivotal age being around 27 months (more structured activities).
The crèche has two types of operation: horizontal and vertical.
Different criteria are taken into account when deciding on floor changes, such as psychomotor and emotional development, sleep/wake rhythms, and available places...
Horizontal operation (48 places)
The 1st floor accommodates the youngest children (from 0 to 16-18 months) and the first floor, the oldest (from 16-18 months until leaving for school).
Vertical operation (15 places)
This section, located on the second floor with terrace, is a living group with 15 places in vertical operation, welcoming children from 0 months up to their departure for school.
Reception project
The reception project concerns the whole crèche (horizontal and vertical operation). However, the specificities of these operations mean that pedagogical choices are organized differently.
Club Temps Libre
The "Club Temps Libre" is an after-school care service, created in 1977 as part of the Facultés Universitaires N.D. de la paix in Namur. The service is approved and subsidized by ONE (Office de la naissance et de l'enfance).
During the school year, the service offers extra-curricular care after the school day and on Wednesday afternoons to children aged 2.5 and 10. Games, books, drawing and craft materials, bicycles and scooters, ... are available to keep children pleasantly occupied during their presence, in activities that are sometimes free, sometimes structured.
After school and on Wednesday afternoons, children enjoy being able to play freely, however structured activities are offered to children at their request or on the initiative of the carers. These are never compulsory.
During the school vacations, the club temps libre is a holiday center offering a varied program of activities for children. Each week is organized around a theme that brings together a variety of activities: cocooning, sports, creative, dynamic and cultural.
Its premises are located at 4 rue Grafé (in the basement), in a building belonging to the University of Namur.
