Doctoral applications is open all year round. Find here all the information you need about the procedure, the rules, the registration file and how to apply, re-registration or even the equivalence of a doctoral degree obtained abroad.

First-time doctoral registration procedure

  1. Choosing a sponsor, a topic and finding funding
  2. Consulting the doctoral regulations
  3. Completing the registration file

Documents to be supplied

Once you have conferred with your promoter, you must gather all the necessary documents in order to submit a doctoral registration file (non-exhaustive list):

  • A copy of both sides of your identity card or passport and recent proof of nationality,
  • A copy of all university and/or non-university diplomas,
  • A copy of all your transcripts (from each year),
  • A description of the research project,
  • An e-mail from each member of the accompanying committee attesting to their agreement to supervise the research work,
  • The draft doctoral training program,
  • If you are concerned, the draft cotutelle agreement if it is in the process of being drawn up.

Please note, documents expressed in languages other than French, Dutch and English, will need to be translated by an official committee.

Submit file

Once you have completed your application and gathered all the documents, you must send it to the Registration Department as a single PDF file at inscriptions@unamur.be

  • Registration fees subsequent years: 32€

Inscriptions

Re-registration

Re-registration for the doctorate is not automatic. You must re-register for the PhD every year. From the end of June, you will be invited to do so by following the instructions sent by Enrolment Services to your UNamur mailbox.
