The student's annual program (PAE) is a coherent set of teaching units (UE) for which the student registers for the year, validated by the jury. When registering for the first time, your PAE is made up of 60 bachelor credits (block 1).
EAP after the first year of bachelor's studies
It all depends on the number of credits acquired during the first year of study.
0 credits acquired
A reorientation is compulsory (see the fundability rules).
Between 1 and 29 credits acquired
- Your EAP consists of UEs not acquired.
- Your enrolment is compulsorily supplemented by activities to help you succeed.
Between 30 and 44 credits acquired
- Your EAP consists of a maximum of 60 credits, including UEs not acquired AND credits from the rest of the course (with the jury's agreement).
- You have the option of adding activities to help you succeed.
Between 45 and 54 credits acquired
- Your EAP consists of a maximum of 60 credits, including UEs not acquired AND credits from the rest of the course (with jury approval).
When should you create your EAP?
- The PAE must be drawn up by the student and validated by the training jury by October 31 at the latest. However, we strongly advise you to complete your PAE as soon as possible, in order to anticipate any back and forth with the jury.
- As soon as you have:
- Your eID ;
- A message from your faculty informing you that the Configurator (the computer application that enables you to complete your PAE) is open. This opening is decided by each faculty. Dates may therefore vary from one faculty to another and from one course to another
How is your EAP validated?
Personal validation on the Configurator
When your EAP is established, you can 'validate' it on the Configurator. It is then sent to the jury for approval.
Message from the Jury to your @student.unamur.be address
Three types:
- Simple validation(confirmation)
The jury has validated your EAP and sends you a summary of the UEs you will have to follow and for which you will present the assessments. In the event of a problem, you have 10 days in which to respond to this message, provided it is sent before 31/10. In the absence of any reaction, you will be deemed to have accepted to follow these UEs and to present the assessments. - Validation with amendment
The jury validates your EAP while imposing one or more constraints with regard to the remarks and/or your course. In the event of a problem, you must respond to this message by 31/10. In the absence of any reaction, you will be deemed to have accepted to follow these UEs and to take the assessments. - Refusal
The Jury does not approve your EAP and proposes recommendations. You must then draw up a new EAP based on the jury's recommendations.
Who to contact in the event of difficulties or questions about your EAP?
In the event of errors or questions about your EAP, you can contact your faculty secretariat: https://www.unamur.be/fr/facultes/contacts.
FAQ
I'm in Block 1, do I have to take part in all the assessments in the January session?
No. Your participation in the January assessments is no longer a condition for registering for the other assessment periods of the academic year.
I pass block 1 of my bachelor's degree, what does my EAP consist of?
You will only be considered in pursuit of the bachelor's degree cycle if you have acquired the 60 credits of block 1.
In poursuite de cycle:
- Your EAP consists of a minimum of 60 credits;
- Your EAP consists of UEs not acquired in previous registrations AND UEs from the rest of the program;
- You have the option of changing UEs not acquired if they are optional.
Can my EAP be less than 60 credits?
Yes, as long as you meet one of the conditions below:
- Less than 30 Block 1 credits acquired;
- Allocation;
- End of cycle;
- Jury's reasoned decision in the following cases:
o Coorganization of Higher Education Establishments outside the French Community of Belgium,
o Mobility,
o Non-acquired prerequisites,
o Pedagogical and/or organizational reasons (in this case, PAE of minimum 55 credits),
o At the student's request to balance remaining credits in further study.
I'm at the end of my bachelor's cycle, can I anticipate Master's UEs?
Yes, you can anticipate Master's UEs, provided you only have a maximum of 15 credits left from your bachelor's degree to acquire.
I'm anticipating master's UEs, what does my EAP consist of?
Your EAP will consist of:
- Your remaining bachelor's credits (maximum 15 credits),
- Master's UE credits, provided the master's admissions jury validates your UE choices.
In all cases, your EAP (bachelor and master) cannot exceed 60 credits.
Please note! You will not be able to anticipate the UE relating to the master's thesis until you have graduated from your bachelier (unless you are registered for a 60-credit master's degree).
What are the conditions for benefiting from a reduction?
At the time of registration: in the event of exceptional professional, social, medical or academic circumstances;
Until February 15: in block 1 for 'aide à la réussite' alleviation or following a reorientation;
Until March 1 at the latest: due to a serious medical or social reason or when the student benefits from 'special needs student' (EBS) status.
What are prerequisites?
Pre-requisites are a way of conditioning access to one or more other teaching unit(s). They work as follows: you must first pass such and such teaching unit(s) before you can access such and such other teaching unit(s) in a subsequent academic year. They are defined between units in different year blocks and therefore influence the order in which you can take the units in the program.
Example: You are taking the Bachelor of Medicine course and would like to add the "Topographical Anatomy" unit (block 3) to your EAP. To be able to add it to your EAP, you must have successfully completed "General Anatomy II" and "General Anatomy III" (block 2). These are prerequisites.
Prerequisites are important because they enable your program to be pedagogically coherent and progressive. It makes no pedagogical sense to give access to a teaching unit when the essential notions taught in another preceding teaching unit have not been acquired. The jury ensures that these prerequisites are met when it validates your program at the beginning of the year.
What are corequisites?
Corequisites are another way of conditioning access to one or more other teaching unit(s). They work as follows: access to such-and-such teaching unit(s) before being able to access such-and-such other teaching unit(s) during the same academic year.
Can the jury transform a prerequisite into a corequisite?
In principle, no. However, they may do so in one particular case: when you are at the end of the cycle only.
How do I know if I'm at the end of the cycle?
You are at the end of your cycle when your EAP includes the last credits you need to acquire to obtain your academic degree.
EAP Configurator
General
- Is the Configurator accessible all the time?
No. Accessibility is defined by your Faculty depending in particular on the course you are enrolled in. When the Configurator is not accessible, you cannot connect to it, but you will be notified of its next opening times.
- Does the creation of an EAP on the Configurator open access to Webcampus?
You have access to Webcampus as soon as your eID is activated. This eID gives you access to the university's various online applications. You will have received the activation procedure by post from Enrolment Services. Once your EAP has been validated by the jury, Webcampus subscribes you to the various Teaching Units (TUs) listed in your EAP, which you simply have to confirm.
Error messages
- What does "You are not yet registered or re-registered for a course organized by UNamur" mean?
This means that you do not have registration(s) for the current academic year. You must therefore first register via the registration form for the following academic year available on the BVE (https://bve.unamur.be/continuation) before logging on to the Configurator.
- What does "Your registration request is being processed by the Enrolment Department" mean?
This means that you have just registered for the course in question for the current academic year, but that the Enrolment Department needs to check your registration file. We therefore invite you to connect at a later date.
- What does "You have already made your choice for your registration" mean?
It means that you have already gone through the Configurator and have already put together your PAE. Now you have to wait for the jury to examine your EAP project. You will be notified by e-mail if your EAP is validated or rejected by the jury.
- Checking that the student is not in a 3rd cycle (PhD)
The Configurator cannot be used for a 3rd cycle registration.
- The Configurator refuses to validate my EAP because the minimum number of required credits has not been reached
You must indicate your situation in "Remarks" (e.g.: I'm finishing my bachelor's degree and have fewer than 30 credits to represent).
Education units
- Can I validate my choices of education units if I take an UE without satisfying its corequisites?
No, you must satisfy the corequisites of this UE to be able to validate your PAE.
- How come some UEs are not offered to me?
A UE is not offered if the student has not satisfied the pre-requisites of this UE or/and the co-requisite of this UE cannot be satisfied within the framework of the PAE he/she has put together.
On the other hand, if you think a UE should be part of your EAP and it is not on the Configurator, you can indicate this in the "remarks" box of the Configurator ("UE code + UE title").
For each UE you wish to add to your EAP:
- Prerequisite: I do not have access to this UE... (code + title + no. of credits) because I have not acquired these prerequisite(s) ... (code(s) + title(s) + number of credits). I would therefore like to register for this course by removing the prerequisite(s) and transforming them into corequisite(s).
- Corequisite(s): this/these UE has/have as corequisite(s): ... (code(s) + title(s) + no. of credits)
- Plea: Arguments to lift this prerequisite and transform it into a corequisite (5 lines maximum)
- How to choose a UE that does not appear in the Configurator?
You must indicate this UE in "Remarks" ("UE code + UE title"). The jury will then be able to examine your request.
- How do I proceed if a passed UE is pre-checked in my PAE without me being able to uncheck it?
You must indicate your situation in "Remarques" (e.g.: I validated this UE "code UE + intitulé de l'UE" during the academic year ...). The EAP will be corrected.
- How do I modify my EAP after validating it on the Configurator?
In the event of an error or questions about your EAP, you can contact your faculty's academic advisor.
