Initial Teacher Training – Preliminary written test of advanced proficiency in the French language
The decree governing the reform of initial teacher training (FIE) – decree of February 7, 2019, amended by the decree of December 2021 – brings major structural changes to teacher training.
Therefore, if you wish to teach in upper secondary education (from 4th to 6th secondary) in the Wallonia-Brussels Federation, you will need to follow a Master's program in Teaching Section 4 or Section 5.
A mandatory diagnostic test of French language proficiency is scheduled at the beginning of the year (October) for all students enrolled for the first time in section 4 or 5. If you fail this test, a 5-credit remedial teaching unit will be added to the PAE.
Administrative fees
The review of your file is subject to a flat fee of €200 to cover administrative costs. This is a prerequisite for the review of your application.
Specific admission requirements
You must submit an application, which will be reviewed by the admissions committee of the relevant faculty.
