Any application must meet the admission requirements of the chosen course but also be declared fundable, in accordance with the decree of April 11, 2014 adapting the funding of higher education institutions to the new organization of studies.
Adaptations to the Landscape Decree - 04/26/2024
The adaptations to the Décret paysage on the "financeability" of higher education students have been adopted by the Parliament of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation. These rules will come into force as soon as and subject to their sanction by the Government of the French Community and publication in the Moniteur belge.
What is financeability?
Any application for enrolment must meet the admission conditions but also be declared fundable in accordance with the decree of April 11, 2014 adapting the funding of higher education establishments to the new organization of studies.
This means that you can pursue studies when the enrolment you apply for gives rise to funding from the French Community of Belgium, in other words, when your enrolment is "fundable". If your enrolment is not, or is no longer, fundable, higher education establishments (including universities) may refuse it.
The Enrolment Department checks compliance with these conditions on the basis of a complete file comprising:
- For new students: the enrolment application form accompanied by final transcripts relating to post-secondary academic years.
- For students who have already been enrolled at the University of Namur: the re-enrolment application form (via the Virtual Student Office or via the duly completed ad hoc document).
The Enrolment Department informs applicants after analyzing the complete academic file.
In order to understand what financeability is and what impact it can have on your academic career, we invite you to download the PDF "Financeability in brief".
We would like to draw your attention to the fact that the explanations in this PDF do not take into account all the specific rules for calculating your finançability.
Only the decision of the Enrolment Department is binding.
What are the rules?
The Registration Service of the University of Namur explains the rules of fundability. This will help you position yourself and better understand the academic process.
