Prerequisites
If you hold a non-Belgian 2nd cycle diploma, be sure to submit a request for equivalence of this diploma to the Service des Equivalences de la Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles before July 15.
.Examen de maitrise appronfondie de la langue française (EMLF)
A student without a diploma obtained in the Wallonia-Brussels Federation cannot access didactic master's studies or the Agrégation de l'Enseignement Secondaire Supérieur (AESS), unless he or she passes the examen de maitrise approfondi de la langue française (EMLF).
Administrative fees
The examination of your application is subject to the payment of a fixed administrative fee of €200. This is a prerequisite for the review of your application.
Admission requirements
Access to studies leading to the title of agrégé de l'enseignement secondaire supérieur (AESS) is reserved for holders of:
- A 2nd cycle academic degree awarded in the French Community,
- A 2nd cycle academic degree awarded in the German-speaking Community, the Flemish Community, or by the Royal Military School and deemed similar by the academic authorities,
- Or a foreign academic degree recognized as equivalent.
A student without a degree obtained in the Wallonia-Brussels Federation must pass the Advanced French Language Proficiency Examination (EMLF) to access the AESS.

When and how do I register?
- If you need a study visa, by March 31, at the latest.
- If you do NOT need a study visa, by September 30, at the latest.
Please note: only one application per person is legally permitted. If you apply for more than one registration at several higher education establishments in the French Community of Belgium, you run the risk of being refused for all your applications.
