Un programme pour chaque discipline Durant la fin du mois d’août et début septembre, l’UNamur propose aux élèves de rhéto des cours préparatoires adaptés à leur future formation.Ces sessions de révisions sont spécialement conçues pour accompagner les élèves dans leur transition vers l’université. En renforçant leurs bases dans les matières clés de leur future discipline, elles leur permettent d’aborder leur première année avec confiance. Ces cours préparatoires sont aussi une excellente opportunité pour découvrir le campus, rencontrer de futurs camarades et se familiariser avec les méthodes d’apprentissage propres à l’enseignement supérieur. Explainable Software Engineering in the Public Sector The field of software engineering seeks to devise theories, methods, tools, and techniques that support the development, operation, and evolution of the digital infrastructure modern society relies on. While the software engineering capabilities have advanced substantially over the past decades, it remains challenging to deliver high quality systems in a timely and cost-effective manner. Government system in particular have a weak reputation in this respect.To better understand why, we analyze 125 complex software projects in the public sector in The Netherlands. The projects are described in public reports published by the Advisory Council on IT Assessments (AcICT), which advises the Dutch parliament and cabinet on riks and chances of success in complex Information Technology (IT) projects. The projects span a time period of 10 years, represent a total budget of over 14 billion Euros, and cover such areas as tax collection, social security, pensions, health, traffic control, defense, or water management.We study these reports through the lens of "explainability", focusing on supporting decision making. Furthermore, we reflect on current advances in software engineering, including modern software testing and large language models, in addressing current software engineering challenges. Clausewitz : vivre et penser la guerre

Résumé Carl von Clausewitz (1780-1831) est incontestablement, avec Sun Tzu, le plus invoqué des penseurs sur la guerre et la stratégie. Son oeuvre majeure, Vom Kriege (De la guerre) est abordée dans toutes les écoles militaires du monde, comme dans tous les départements d’étude des relations internationales. Cette oeuvre n’est cependant pas née tout d’un coup, elle est le fruit d’une vie dans l’armée prussienne à l’époque des guerres napoléoniennes et d’une pensée qui s’est affinée au fur et à mesure des événements dramatiques de cette époque.Bruno Colson est professeur ordinaire émérite de l’Université de Namur. La plupart de ses ouvrages portent sur les guerres napoléoniennes, dont Leipzig. La bataille des Nations, 16-19 octobre 1813 (Paris, Perrin, 2013, Prix Premier Empire 2013 de la Fondation Napoléon), et Clausewitz (Paris, Perrin, 2016, Prix littéraire du Cercle royal gaulois, Bruxelles, 2018). Défense publique de thèse - Movsun KUY

This thesis presents a novel approach to address the challenges of deploying and managing Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) in resource-constrained and multi-domain environments. The proposed solution leverages a Raspberry Pi clusterbased approach for NFV deployment in resource-constrained environments, combined with a deployable Sidecar VNF (S-VNF) coordinator for multi-domain NFV orchestration.The thesis demonstrates the feasibility of integrating NFV into edge computing environments by successfully deploying and managing Network Services (NSs) on a Raspberry Pi cluster. The S-VNF coordinator facilitates efficient cross-cloud VNF deployment and management while ensuring security and interoperability.While the obtained deployment and scaling delays in the testbed setup were significant due to the bare-metal deployment process used, the proposed solution remains valuable in environments where service maintenance time is a critical factor.By automating deployment and scaling, organizations can minimize the impact of service maintenance time, improve customer satisfaction, and enhance system resilience. Moreover, the solution enables NFV to be deployed effectively in edge environments, providing benefits such as reduced latency and improved network performance.Overall, this thesis contributes to the advancement of NFV by providing innovative solutions for deployment and management in challenging environments. Étudiantes en droit à l’UNamur, Marilyn Emmerechts et Delphine Blomme font partie de la MUN Society Belgium (MSB), un organisme qui propose de simulations de débat dans des comités de l'ONU. En mars, leur équipe s’est rendue à Manille, aux Philippines, pour disputer les championnats du monde de diplomatie estudiantine, organisés par l’Université d’Harvard. Obtenir instantanément la traduction en langue des signes (LSFB) d’un mot écrit en français : voilà ce que permet MOSI (Du mot au signe). Ce nouvel outil est le fruit d’une collaboration entre l’Université de Namur, l’asbl École et Surdité et l’asbl LSFB, soutenue par la Fondation Roi Baudouin.
