Étienne de Callataÿ was born in Etterbeek in 1962. He holds degrees in economics from the University of Namur and the London School of Economics. He has worked in the research department of the National Bank of Belgium and at the International Monetary Fund. He is co-founder of Orcadia AM, an asset management company. At the same time, he is a lecturer at the Université Catholique de Louvain and the Université de Namur, where he teaches courses in macroeconomics and public finance. He is the author or co-author of several books on economics. He is also Honorary President of the Royal Society of Political Economy of Belgium, and a director of various associations including Les Petits Riens and Special Olympics Belgium.
