Information session content

In academic circles, patents are often little-known and don't always get good press. However, they are an invaluable and sometimes essential tool for promoting or even completing research work. Patents are also an abundant and unique source of information.

We'll start by looking at what a patent is and what can be patented, and then move on to the specifics of the life sciences sector. In fact, pharmaceuticals, biotechnologies and medical technologies are the three Belgian sectors that will file the most applications with the European Patent Office in 2021, testifying to the dynamism and importance of this sector in Belgium.
