To be able to propose rigorous arguments in order to defend a given philosophical posture concerning the choices and prioritisation in healthcare
To make the students aware of the difficulties to make choices in the healthcare system.
This course is divided into two parts : the first one aiming to shed light on the ethical challenges linked to the (non) reimbursement of health services, and more specifically, of medicines. First, funding methods for the health insurance will be analysed through the eye of equity (funding on the basis of contributory capacities). Then, we'll analyse the ways to make the patient feel 'responsible' for his own health-related products consumption (and in particular, his medicine consumption). We'll try to distinguish the different types of financial responsabilisation from the measures that tend to make the patient 'capable' of adopting a behaviour liable to encounter the efficiency requirements both for society and for himself. We'll particularly stress on the theories of distributive justice that may be used as an inspiration for a fairer health politic.

An exhaustive list of questions for the exam is elaborate during the course
The exact modalities of the evaluation are likely to be modified during the preparation of the examination schedules, depending on the practical constraints with which the faculty administration may be confronted, or in the event of illness / force majeure / encroachment with an internship, or because of the health situation related to the coronavirus.
