Learning outcomes

This course aims to provide the student not so much with an encyclopaedic background as with tools for analysis and reflection, following on from the second year's teaching. It encourages the building of bridges with other courses.

Content

Relationships between language and thought; overview of 20th-century linguistic theories; presentation of a theory, interpretative semantics, for literary analysis.
