Scholarships and financial aid

Any Belgian or assimilated student enrolled in a higher education institution in the Wallonia-Brussels Federation is entitled to apply for study allowances from the Service d'allocations d'études (SAE) or to make use of the financial aid offered by the Cellule sociale des étudiants du VéCU.

French language proficiency test (EMLF)

Fluency in French is essential in most fields of study given that the main language of instruction is French. According to article 113§ 1er of the decree of November 07, 2013 defining the landscape of higher education and the academic organization of studies, a student who does not hold a diploma obtained in the Wallonia-Brussels Federation must pass the EMLF if he or she wishes to access:the didactic master's studiesthe Agrégation de l'Enseignement Secondaire Supérieur (AESS)This exam can be taken twice per academic year.Passing this exam leads to a certificate declaring that the student has reached level C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, established by the Council of Europe. This attestation is recognized in all higher education establishments in the Wallonia-Brussels Federation.

French Community Jury

Registration for the Jury de la Communauté française is open to self-taught individuals or those who have abandoned their studies and wish to resume them. Access to these tests is reserved for people who, for objective, legitimate reasons sovereignly assessed by the jury, are unable to follow teaching activities on a regular basis. Diplomas obtained in this way have the same value as those awarded to regularly enrolled students.

Dual bachelor-master registration (BAMA15)

You may apply to the Jury of the Master's program in which you wish to enroll for authorization to anticipate teaching units in the Master's program. If the authorization is granted, you will then be able to acquire the credits corresponding to these master's teaching units at the same time as you acquire the balance of the bachelor's degree credits.
