For their research activities, NISM Institute researchers rely on technology platform teams, each of which houses state-of-the-art equipment, technical know-how and cutting-edge expertise. They are accessible to the scientific community as well as to industry.

The Institute's research projects, publications and collaborations include all categories of researchers. Led by academic promoters, they mobilize post-doctoral researchers, PhD students and even master's students (student-researchers).

will take place from September 2 to 6, 2024 at the Gîte du domaine d'Haugimont (owned by the University of Namur) and will deal with medieval manuscripts in their material and historical aspects (parchment and ink manufacture). The event is aimed at historians, archaeologists and researchers in the physical and chemical sciences. Participation is free for doctoral students attached to FNRS doctoral schools in the disciplines concerned. At the crossroads of archaeology, history and the exact sciences, this colloquium-workshop will give the floor to three speakers (a physicist, a chemist and a historian) who will present the interdisciplinary research they are conducting together in this field. Economics seminars are co-organized by CRED, CERPE and CeReFiM. Seminars in Namur generally take place on Tuesdays, starting at 4pm and finishing between 5:15 and 5:30pm (venue: "Salle Polyvalente"). Joint macro-seminars take place in Brussels at the NBB (Rue Montagne aux Herbes Potagères 61, Brussels).

The research of Dr. Nitin Bharti, a former PhD student in the Economics Department of the EMCP Faculty at the University of Namur, is covered in "The Economist", the prestigious international business magazine. The article deals with one of his favorite research themes: understanding the development of education systems and their link with economic growth and long-term inequality.

It's a point of pride for UNamur: the Centre de Recherche en Économie du Développement (CRED) of the Institut DeFIPP at the University of Namur maintains close links between several of its researchers and James A. Robinson, recently awarded the Nobel Prize in Economics. Robinson, renowned for his groundbreaking work on institutions and economic development, has collaborated on several occasions with CRED members, strengthening academic exchanges and scientific advances in this field.

For the past ten years, Professor Guilhem Cassan has been working on the question of the link between the media and political life in collaboration with Professor Julia Cagé, who has just been awarded the highly prestigious Yrjö Jahnsson Prize, which recognizes the best European economist under the age of 45. The UNamur Department of Economics (EMCP Faculty) and the DeFiPP Institute (CRED Centre) have a network and recognized international expertise in development economics and environmental economics.
