Learning outcomes

Electronic structure and geometry of transition metal complexes

Reaction mechanisms of organometallic compounds (cross-coupling reactions, CH activation reactions...)

Structure-reactivity relationships in transition metal complexes

Reactivity of polar organometallics

Catalytic cycles involving transition metal complexes

Goals

The lecture is designed to give a first overview of the reactivity of transition metal complexes. A rational approach based on structure and reaction mechanisms is used.

Content

The main families of transformations employing organometallics are reviewed and a structural and mechanistic approach is applied.
