Learning outcomes

At the end of the course, the student:

  • will be able to situate the main geographical movements within sciences
  • will have acquired an epistemology of key concepts and notions of geography
  • will be able to position key authors of geography in their specific movement

Goals

The objective of this course is to provide some thoughts on geography as a science and its recent developments. It aims to identify important schools of geography and to clarify the specificity of the geographical approach.

  • Key concepts and notions in geography

Exercices

Written work based on an epistemological analysis of scientific papers.

Assessment method

Written work and oral defense of the work. The oral defense will also include some theoretical questions.

The evaluation is similar for the second session.
