At the end of this course, the student should be able to perform calculations frequently encountered in the pharmacy or hospital field.
The objective of this course is to teach the student to master the mathematical aspects of preparing and dispensing pharmaceutical products. The student should also be able to perform dosage calculations.
Several calculation methods will be discussed: calculation of the isotonicity of a magistral preparation, calculation of dosage according to the weight or body surface of the patient, density calculations, alcoometry, ...
Written examination in the form of short open-ended questions (SOQs). Evaluation criteria: The student is allowed only 10% of wrong answers. Beyond this 10%, the student will fail the unit.
