At the level of subject-specific skills - be aware of the legal issues linked to the development of communication technologies and digital services (massive use of data, surveillance society, etc.) - analyse technological resources with a critical and constructive eye - to acquire the necessary reflexes to implement the law in a technological environment - apply theoretical knowledge to practical situations in the digital context. In terms of soft skills - Develop a sense of reflection and analysis connected to the field by studying the different models proposed by the digital economy and the legal issues they raise; - establish links between legal and non-legal reasoning; - discover the work and thoughts of professionals; - develop personal reflections on the understanding of particular practical situations in the light of known legal principles; - Present personal opinions and argue to defend one's point of view; - opening up to the world, especially the world of technology.
The course aims to give an overview of the legal issues raised by the developments of computer science and, in particular, of the Internet with regard to fundamental rights (privacy, data protection, freedom of expression,...). Cybercrime issues are also analysed (cyber harassment, unauthorised access to an information system, virus propagation, cyber warfare, etc.).
The evaluation is carried out through: - writing a news article (or carte blanche) on a topic covered in the course (25% of the points) - a written examination, combining theoretical questions and case studies (75% of the points)
