Goals

The purpose of the practical exercises is twofold: The first thing to do is to experiment with film techniques so that the student can understand, by practising them, what they imply in terms of the production of meaning in the creation of the film. The student will be able to see the meaning of framing, sound recording, acting, etc. through filming exercises. This course is designed to help students to understand and use the concepts of editing, rhythm, cutting, the relationship between sound and image, mixing, etc. The course is designed to help students to understand and use the concepts of editing, rhythm, cutting, mixing, etc. The second objective is to train the student in audiovisual creation in order to produce an audiovisual analysis of a film (cf. the vignettes of the series Blow up directed by Luc Lagier on Arte). The mastery of this exercise will be used for the writing of the thesis, part of which may be audiovisual.
