Learning outcomes

The course objective is to introduce students to the main geophysical methods (seismic, electrical, electromagnetic and gravimetric) used to identify the nature and the degree of alternation of the surface geology. The theory will be illustrated by a series of examples of application in the field of civil engineering and hydrogeology.

Content

Introducing the concepts of basic physics needed for geophysical techniques, such as the spread of electric current and seismic waves in a continuous medium. Presenting what information can be extracted from signals recorded in the ground.
