The master's degree programme in biomedical sciences celebrates its 10th anniversary!
Organised for the first time in the academic year 2012-2013, this master's programme was created to respond to a shortage of biomedical experts in the fields of preclinical and clinical research. Today, students enrolling in these UNamur programmes benefit from a comprehensive, degree-granting and highly sought-after bachelor's and master's degree.

"Daring to ask": the challenge for medical students to detect domestic violence
To raise the awareness of future doctors to the issue of domestic violence, particularly during pregnancy, which is a riskier situation: this is the programme of the next practical work on "professional communication in health" in the medical psychology course, taught to the UNamur 3rd year of bachelor’s degree in medicine students. This awareness-raising is done in the form of an escape game "Do you dare to ask the question", designed by two midwife teachers from the Hénallux paramedical department. This is a unique educational initiative and a first-time collaboration aimed at future doctors in Wallonia.

The Teddy Bear Clinic: pharma students demystify the medical world for children
On their own initiative, five masters’ students from the UNamur pharmacy department slipped into the shoes of 'Teddybearologists' as part of the 'Teddy Bear Clinic', an event organised by UCLouvain. They played the role of pharmacists, recommending treatments for children's teddy bears and explaining the role of their future profession.

An AstraZeneca-FNRS-FWO Foundation award for Charlotte Beaudart
On 13 December 2023, Charlotte Beaudart, a new academic at the University of Namur Faculty of Medicine, will be awarded a prize at the annual ceremony for Belgian scientific research in support of her innovative research on the subject of ageing.

Rural medicine: the UNamur inaugurates a university observatory
This is a first in the Belgian medical and academic landscape: a university observatory for rural medicine has been set up at the University of Namur. Its mission is to understand the shortage of doctors in rural areas and identify solutions, in collaboration with local stakeholders, to encourage future GPs to set up in these regions.
