At the end of this course, students should master a general chronology of the history of the Italian language, with its main articulations and key moments; they should also be able to explain the concepts presented in class by placing them in their cultural context, and should be familiar with the texts read and analysed in class. In the course of the exercises, he/she will also be asked to approach a set of contemporary short narrative texts.

They should also be able to explain the concepts presented in class by placing them in their cultural context, and should be familiar with the texts read and analysed in class. During the exercises, a selection of readings is proposed and commented on in class (active participation required from the students).
January: a written exam (practical course) and an oral exam (theoretical course) August: a written theoretical exam and an oral exam, in case of failure in January. The weighting and assessment criteria will be presented in class at the beginning of the year and will be available on Webcampus.
