Learning outcomes

To describe in details a major metabolic disease (Obesity and Insulin Resitance)

To understand the complexity of metabolic diseases, the fact that is mutltifactorial, the responses and contribution of various tissues/organs...as well as microflora

To cover major modern technologies ("omics") and their contribution in the understanding of the metabolic diseases.

Goals

Analyse different aspects of an important metabolic question related to insulin resistance, obesity and associated diseases.

Describe and analyze the different roles palyed by many organs.

Characterize the different levels of analysis and different angles/aspects (epigentics, microbiome,...).

Review the techniques used in the studies devoted to study metabolism.
