Learning outcomes

The course aims to address specific organizational and managerial problems by identifying innovative solutions. To achieve this, students will work in groups, adopting the perspective of an external consultancy team responsible for providing practical solutions based on scientific knowledge related to the subject at hand.

Goals

The aim of is to stimulate students' analytical and innovative abilities in relation to organizational and managerial issues, and to hone their practical skills based on proven scientific approaches.

 

The objectives are as follows:

1.   To acquire an in-depth understanding of, and develop the ability to analyze, organizational and managerial issues.

2.   Decompose, analyze and interpret an issue in its context using various tools and theories.

3.   Identify relevant, actionable and sustainable levers for innovation.

4.   (For students taking the course 'Organizational and Change Management'): propose a plan for implementing change based on the identified innovations.

Content

The course starts with a kick-off session that aims to lay the theoretical foundations of organizational and managerial innovation. One or more companies will also present the projects on which the team of junior consultants will be working. This is followed by coaching sessions to support the teams, as well as a reverse hackathon designed to challenge the proposed innovations. Finally, the solutions are presented to a jury of academic and industry experts for discussion.

Teaching methods

The course is organized into several stages:

- A kick-off session covering the theoretical basics, field requirements and work objectives.

- Meetings with the academic and business coaches.

- A reverse hackathon day

- A presentation of innovations to a jury of experts.

Assessment method

Learning outcomes are assessed as follows: consulting report (60%), active participation (hackathon, coaching – 15%), jury defence (25%).
