Only in case you had your own car before your arrival and wish to use it during your stay in Belgium.
The procedure is as follows:
In order to register your car, you must be registered in the National Register, which implies having a national register number.
Procedure:
1. Pay customs duties (label 705).
2. Go to the vehicle safety inspection for a technical inspection (UK: MOT).
3. Affix the insurer's sticker and signature to the registration application.
To present to the DIV office with the registration application:
- The original registration certificate from the country of origin
- It is advisable to have the certificate of conformity (in copy, with the application)
- The purchase invoice (in copy, with the registration application)
You have the option of sending the documents by post, bearing in mind that there will be a delay of around two weeks, or dropping them off directly at a DIV office counter. If the documents are urgent, it is obviously advisable to choose the second option. Walloon Region contact number: 081/330.001
