Learning outcomes

The internship offers students the opportunity to put the knowledge acquired during their training to the test, and to acquire new knowledge and skills directly related to the issues and realities they encounter during their assignments. This situational learning dimension is at the heart of this UE's assessment.

Goals

There are two main learning objectives:

  • On the one hand, the internship enables students to put to the test the knowledge and conceptual tools they have acquired over almost four years. It fosters embodied learning of subjects hitherto apprehended in an essentially theoretical way. This first objective can be described as practical. The precise content of the tasks to be accomplished, and the assessment of the student's work at this level, are the responsibility of the internship supervisor.
  • On the other hand, the internship enables the student to develop and put to the test cross-disciplinary skills of observation, problematization, analysis/synthesis and communication that he or she will be able to mobilize for use in future professional circumstances. The definition of this second objective and the assessment of the student at this level are an academic responsibility.

Content

Internship assignments are defined in partnership with the host company/organization. They must be validated by the Corporate Unit (jean-luc.gustin@unamur.be) before the agreement is signed. During the internship, students are supported in identifying a personal learning project that will be central to the assessment of this UE.

Teaching methods

Stages of deployment of the course:

  • Follow-up from project validation to evaluation.
  • Case-by-case follow-up at the trainee's request (john.cultiaux@unamur.be)
  • The various stages of this activity and its evaluation are described in the "Trainee Guide" and other materials available on WebCampus.
    • The internship project and assignment are submitted in writing to the Cellule Corporate administrative manager before signing the agreement: jean-luc.gustin@unamur.be
    • The personal learning project will be submitted by October 30 / March 30, by deposit on WebCampus (evaluation section / your personal learning project)
    • Submission of internship report and logbook (MDS assessment) by the first day of the session, by deposit on WebCampus (assessment section / your internship report)

Assessment method

  • The final assessment take the following into consideration:

    • Internship report (academic assessment of the Personal Learning Project)
    • Internship logbook (company evaluation)
    • Final interview: professional presentation of the Personal Learning Project (via TEAMS, unless otherwise specified)

Precise assessment procedures are specified in the "Trainee Guide" available on WebCampus and in a dedicated video document.
