Learning outcomes

Revise atomic structure and present some modern and new applications of physics used in biomedicine ; X rays, spectrometry technologies, cytometry, medical imagery, radioprotection, biology, biochemistry,...

Goals

To learn the principles of many technologies used in biomedical research and get applications and illustrations of the use of these techniques in biomedical research.

Content

- reminder of atomic structure - applications : X rays, ionizing radiations, spectroscopy, MRI - experimental technologies : proteomics, mass spectrometry and flow cytometry -radioprotection

Table of contents

Part A-C Heuskin:

Assessment method

Written examen containing 3 different parts.

The final note is the average of the different parts.

When the mean is below threshold (10/20), the student needs to pass the exam again on the different parts of the UE.

When the mean is above threshold (10/20) but severe failure (7 or lower) is reported in one part of the exam, a 6/20 will be notified. The student will be reevaluated on the part he/she failed, the other grades being kept.

Keeping partial grades is only possible for the current academic year. In the case of a second failure in the second session, the student will have to retake all parts of the examination the following academic year.
