Learning outcomes

Physics is expressed in mathematical language...

From the start of their course, students will be required to use mathematical concepts in their physics lessons: to carry out calculations, of course, but also to write reasoning or observations in equations. The aim of this course is to help them to be efficient as quickly as possible. The concepts covered, which are not necessarily new, are considered here as tools, the important thing being to understand in what circumstances they can be used.

Goals

Quickly provide students with the mathematical tools they need to understand Bac 1 physics courses:

  • Know how to calculate (calculation techniques)
  • Understand the meaning and usefulness of mathematical formalisms so that they can be applied to concrete cases (related to physics).

Content

  • Vectors
  • Functions and variations (derivatives) - differential
  • Approximations
  • Complex numbers
  • Applications of integral calculus

Assessment method

Written exam, in session.

Strictly applied exam, no theory.

The procedures and instructions will be explained at the latest during the last lesson, and will be available on webcampus.
