The aim of the course is to be able to read non-specialised texts in the field of history and linguistics and to give presentations in this field. The teaching of Dutch has two main focuses: • the receptive axis, i.e. listening and reading comprehension of authentic texts and knowledge of the vocabulary needed to acquire this skill, • the productive axis, i.e. oral and written expression, which requires the use of a number of grammatical and lexical structures. In this course, written expression will not be assessed
• Active participation in the course and personal work are subject to continuous assessment (10% of the final grade). • During the January assessment period, a written examination is held on the material already covered (30% of the final grade). Participation in this exam is compulsory. • During the second term: oral presentation in groups (10% of the final grade) • During the May-June assessment period, a written examination is held on the second semester's material (30% of the final grade), as well as an oral examination (20% of the final grade). • In the second session, the student represents only those parts for which he/she has obtained less than 50%.
