What are the main concerns of UNamur students that you would like to address during your term of office?

The first thing that's close to my heart is safety on campus. And by safety, I don't just mean cases of aggression, although obviously that's an absolute priority, but safety in the broadest sense. Feeling good at UNamur also means feeling listened to, accompanied and supported in the most difficult moments.

The university has set up several essential cells such as the PHARE (Protection Harcèlement Étudiant), psychological and medical services (CMP). I think it's important to make students more aware of them. Because we don't always react well, due to lack of information, fear, or because we feel alone. These structures exist, they're accessible, and they can really make a difference.
But beyond that, I'm a big believer in prevention and raising awareness. It's essential to open up dialogue on subjects such as alcohol, drug use, emotional and sexual life, and respect at parties. These are the realities of student life, and ignoring them only reinforces the risks.

Moreover, in Namur we're fortunate to offer a rich and varied entertainment scene. Indeed, student circles group students by faculty, kots-à-projet by a common theme and régionales by region. Of course, we're at university first and foremost to study, but it's just as important to live student life to the full. Over the past few years, however, we've noticed a real lack of interest: the bunker is emptying out, recruitment is becoming more complicated, and the number of student councils has fallen by a factor of three... The AGE, as a federating structure, has a role to play in revitalizing collectives, giving meaning back to commitment, and making students want to get involved again. Here too, we need to listen, dialogue and, above all, act together, with all assemblies.

What specific projects or initiatives would you like to implement?

First of all, following the discontinuation of the St. Nicholas procession, it is essential to reinvent an equally emblematic event. This festival is highly representative of our university life. Together with the office and the collectives, I want to propose a new formula that is attractive, festive and unifying.

On the prevention side, I'd like to salute the exemplary work of Margaux Homans around risk reduction (alcohol, consent, sexual health, etc.). I'm convinced that Virgile will pursue this mission with the same rigor. I'd like the Student Council to be fully involved in this campaign, and why not set up a working group on this topic, which deserves real involvement.

To combat disinterest and put the spotlight back on student commitment, we'll be launching a series of 10 immersive videos, filmed at the heart of the various collectives: 3 videos for the circles, 3 for the regionals, 3 for the kots-à-projets and one for the Student Council. The aim of these videos is to show what goes on behind the scenes, the values and, above all, the usefulness of these collectives in campus life. They will be broadcast on our platforms and on the AGE website. Because to enhance is to attract.

Also in line with this desire to bring people together, I'd like to organize a grand gala at the Arsenal, an event that would bring together students and staff members in a festive, chic and convivial setting. It would be the perfect opportunity to break down barriers and create links.

Finally, Emilien has launched the project of creating real integration days for new students, which I'd like to set up. Welcoming first-year students is a crucial step. These days will take place over several days: a tour of the campus and its key sites, a barbecue and a welcome party. Followed the next day by an exhibition of university services and kots-à- projets. The idea is to give newcomers a real gateway to student life in Namur, by highlighting the diversity of what UNamur has to offer.

What do you expect from your experience as President of the AGE?

I would like to come out of this year with a better ability to listen, manage and take a step back, valuable skills in student, professional, but also personal life.

On a personal level, I'd like this year to continue to make me grow, surpass myself, and learn every day.

I'd like to emerge from this year with a better ability to listen, manage and take a step back, skills that are invaluable in student life, professionally, but also personally.

I'd like to thank the members of my office from the bottom of my heart for the trust they place in me. Their support and their support push me to give the best of myself.

I also hope that my passage will leave a trace. That it will make people in the animation industry want to get back involved with AGE. So if some students get involved tomorrow because they felt listened to, valued or inspired this year, then I'll have succeeded in what I came for.

Finally, for me, this experience is an opportunity to create very strong bonds of friendship and learn to work with very different profiles.

A word for your predecessor, Emilien Perreaux?

What more can we say than THANK YOU? How far we've come since our first year as a member of the math circle! His year as president hasn't been easy, but he's led it with conviction and respect. He's been a good president. Solid in his ideas, but never disrespectful. I'd also like to thank him for taking over a role in the office. I know I can count on him.
