It was thanks to my English teacher in my final year of secondary school that my passion for languages really came to light. Choosing to study Germanic languages felt like the natural next step. This degree opens up some great career opportunities.
At UNamur, you’re not just a number. There’s a very good relationship between students and lecturers — you really feel part of the ‘Germa family’.
Beyond the courses, we get to go on trips (to Amsterdam, Berlin, Frankfurt, London, Maastricht, Rotterdam), and we organise events like the Christmas Party in December — the atmosphere is fantastic.
There’s also the mentoring system, which has nothing to do with student initiations or student unions. It’s all about fellow students supporting new students by sharing tips on courses, explaining how lecturers tend to ask questions, and so on.
