Learning outcomes

1. Basic principles of photochemistry

2. Photochemical reactions

3. Photochromic compounds and photoswitches

4. Luminescent sensors and probes

5. Visible-light-driven organic photochemical reactions

6. Optoelectronic materials and solar energy conversion

Goals

The next lecture of Organic photochemistry will take place in the academic year 2023/2024

Table of contents

1. Basic principles of photochemistry

2. Photochemical reactions

3. Photochromic compounds and photoswitches

4. Luminescent sensors and probes

5. Visible-light-driven organic photochemical reactions

6. Optoelectronic materials and solar energy conversion

Exercices

An inverted (flipped classroom) will take place and every student will have the opportunity to make a short presentation/flash talk of 5 minutes about a recent scientific article of her/his choice dealing with Organic Photochemistry.

Assessment method

The final exam consists in an oral presentation of 15 minutes, during which the student will present and comment a recent research article related to one of the six chapters described below. The presentation will be followed by 15 minutes of discussions and of general questions about the whole course of Organic Photochemistry.
