The "Participation in research activities in philosophy" course is designed to familiarize students with the scientific approach and contemporary issues in their discipline. At least once every four months, students are invited to take part in one of the research activities offered by the centers attached to the Philosophy department (Centre Arcadie and Centre Universitaire Notre-Dame de Paix, affiliated to the Institut Esphin). Students are also free to organize other activities, in consultation with one of the department's lecturers, which may be included in this UE.
Students must attend at least two research activities per academic year (ideally 1 in Q1 + 1 in Q2) and submit a report on the session to the scientist/academic in charge of organization. Each report must be based on a question identified during the research activity and explicitly mention it in its title. The presentation must answer this question by drawing on the various arguments presented by the scientific contributors. In addition to the arguments presented, students are free to introduce any other elements deemed relevant. The CR should be between 1-3 A4 pages, excluding the cover page. From time to time, participation in research activities may also be combined with other teaching (reading course, authors' course, philosophical questions course, etc.), according to the terms specified by the course instructor at the beginning of each term.
Student participation in research activities in philosophy, following the program established each year by the Centre Arcadie, the Centre Universitaire Notre-Dame de la paix and the Institut de recherche ESPHIN.
A back-to-school meeting (in October) presents the research activities planned for the current year. ◦ Students register on WebCampus for the activities that interest them. ◦ On the day of the activity, students sign the attendance sheet provided at the end of the session. ◦ At the end of the activity, students submit their reports to the scientist in charge of organization, within a maximum of one month.
Each report is assessed by the activity's scientific referee, and a mark of 10/20 or higher is required to validate the UE.
