Learning outcomes

Be able to understand and evaluate a scientific article relating to a cost-effectiveness analysis and/or a HTA (Health Technology Assessment) as a whole.

Goals

Understand the context and rationale of HTA in general and economic evaluation in particular (the WHY). Acquire the key analytical concepts used in economic evaluation applied to health technologies (the HOW).

  1. Background and general principles.
  2. Cost-effectiveness analysis.
  3. Modelling concepts.
  4. Budget impact analysis.
  5. Shared risk contract approach.
  6. Taking stakeholders' preferences into account.

Analysis of a number of scientific articles.

The exact modalities of the evaluation are likely to be modified during the preparation of the examination schedules, depending on the practical constraints with which the faculty administration may be confronted, or in the event of illness / force majeure / encroachment with an internship.
