Learning outcomes

- General pharmacology

- Pharmacokinetics

- Microbiology

- Virology

- General pathology

- Chemistry, physiology, biochemistry

Goals

This course of pharmacotherapy is included in the first objective of the master of biomedical sciences.

"To understand all the steps in the development of new drugs, in particular of biotechnology or cellular origin"

Skills required

- Opening to the use of drugs in the hospital

- After the course, the students should be able to understand the major indications and the rational use of the most important drug categories, considering the underlying disease and the particular situation of the patient

- The students should also be able to make a systematic research on relevant databases (Pubmed, Cochrane,..) and to present orally a summary of a review on a pharmacotherapy topic.

Content

- Reminders of pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics

- Cardiovascular disorders

- Hematologic and Oncologic disorders

- Hemostatic agents

- Pain and inflammation: Pr Jean-Michel Dogné

Assessment method

2 parts

a) Oral presentation by the students (review paper): 20/100

Presentations

Answers to the questions

b) Oral examination: 80/100

- Oral 15 min (with 15min preparation)
