Biography

Hervé Jacquemin holds a law degree from the Catholic University of Louvain and a Master's degree in Informática y Derecho from the Complutense University in Madrid. He was awarded a doctorate in law from the University of Namur in April 2009.  His doctoral thesis on ‘the formalism of protection of the weaker party to the contractual relationship’ was carried out with the financial support of the F.R.S.-FNRS (aspirant mandate).  His research focuses mainly on consumer law and company law, especially in the digital environment.  He is the author of numerous publications on these subjects and regularly gives lectures on the subject.  Within the CRIDS, he heads the Electronic Commerce Unit.  A professor at the University of Namur, he teaches economic law in BLOC 3 Droit and e-commerce law in the complementary Master's degree in DTIC.  Since September 2016, he has been the director of the new Bachelor of Law programme with a staggered timetable, launched at the same time at the Faculty of Law.  He is also a lawyer of Counsel at the Brussels Bar (law firm LIME).
