Attached to the Centre Universitaire Notre-Dame de la Paix (cUNdp), a research center affiliated to the Esphin institute, the Chair studies the relationship between faith and reason, science and religion, the common and the common good in dialogue with scientists and practitioners from different disciplines and faiths.
The project
This project is rooted in UNamur's Jesuit origins. It offers tools for reflection to address religious and spiritual issues in a way that respects people and the requirements of scientific rationality, articulating debates without confusion, in a spirit of freedom, diversity, openness and in a serene climate. Projects are carried out within an interdisciplinary and interfaith dialogue. Experts work side by side with practitioners from the worlds of business, diplomacy, politics, education, justice, the media and healthcare. In recent years, the Chair has focused its activities on the cross-cutting issue of the commons and the common good in the context of sustainable development and a world in crisis(s) and undergoing political, economic, societal and environmental transitions.
The team
The Chair is piloted by Professor Laura Rizzerio and Professor Dominique Lambert within the Centre Universitaire Notre-Dame de la Paix and the Esphin research institute.
