Learning outcomes

The main objective of the course is to give the bases for understanding the transformations of organic molecules. It will prepare the students to apprehend moleclar bases of other courses : biochemistry and medeicinal chemistry.

Content

The course will start with the description of the structure and the stereochemistry of of organic molecules followed by The comprehension of the reactivity of the main functional groups. This study will evidence, through the description of reaction mechanisms, the logic of chemical transformations of organic products. The content of the course is defined in the first chapters of the book : "Chimie Organique" par P.Y. Bruice (Pearson).

Assessment method

Written exam.
