Learning outcomes

Approaching the phenomenon of cybercrime through the study of the main applicable legal and regulatory provisions and case law. The course is divided into several parts, each addressing a topic related to cybercrime. Thus, after an introduction and a review of the rules of general criminal law, non-specific and specific cybercrime will be studied, as well as digital evidence and its specific characteristics. The course will also introduce students to cybersecurity. Thematic courses related to current events and lectures with external guests will also be organised. 

Content

The cybercrime course is divided into several parts: 

  • Review of general criminal law and criminal procedure rules
  • Cybercrime offences
  • Criminal investigations in the digital world
  • Cybersecurity
  • Thematic workshops related to current events (cyberwarfare, facial recognition, cyberterrorism, child pornography, etc.)
  • Lectures given by external experts

Assessment method

Two-hour written examination consisting of four questions:

  • One theoretical question
  • One practical question
  • One question related to the lectures
  • One critical analysis question.
