This course aims to develop different capacities. First of all, the ability to understand the reality of ICT in a multidisciplinary way: links between economics and law are clearly identified. There is also the capacity for abstraction and the rigour to qualify certain hasty judgements. There is also the critical spirit and the ability to judge certain choices, as reflected in certain provisions in force.
This industrial economics course is applied to various issues related to information technology (regulation, current issues in the electronic communications sector, privacy, network economics, e-commerce)... The methodology applied will consist of a combination of lectures, fact-finding studies, directed readings and conferences (given within the course hours). Students will be able to draw on Varian's 'Microeconomics' (the chapter dealing with ICT) and a syllabus. It should be noted that this course incorporates elements of refresher courses, which are essential for understanding the subject.
