An in-depth study of a theme related to Egyptian or Mesopotamian architecture
The different ways of approaching and interpreting Egyptian art are illustrated through an in-depth study of a particular issue. The aim is not only to present artistic developments but also to study the role that art played in royal ideology, funerary beliefs, daily life, religion, etc. The subject of this course is architecture.
Part 1: Lecture with projections; powerpoint presentations available to students
Part 2: presentation of related topics by students based on articles and books made available to students
Discussions on topics related to the current year's theme.
